Thanks for all the advice! Time seems to be the answer. I saw his tail wag today and we played a good few games of tug a war. I was so happy to see him perk up and be hisself for a little while. Seems like he's just adjusting and hopefully it will pass. And yes the maltese has been scanned for a microchip twice and she doesn't have one. I have even put an ad in the paper and people have called but its not the right dog. I have done everything right to find her family, I'm not trying to steal anyone's dog.
