i agree with ya that it's not just an animal. i'm sorry but when it's your pet it's not just another animal to get over it with. it's like loosing a family member. the hurt runs just as deep and the anguish just as hard on you. i won't be able to function the day my two decide it's time to go home to rainbow bridge. i'll be beside myself and i won't be able to work or be normal for awhile. no reason that i can't mourn my pets like the family they always are.
anyways yea animals aren't humans, but we are here to protect and care for them so i believe it's always our duty to respect them and treat them well. we can't just abuse them and do away with them as we please. even hunters (the one's i was raised with) know to respect the animal whose life they are taking and be thankful that it's death allows their food and makes a clean and respectable kill or doesn't bother shooting at them. so why can't people be a litte kinder and more understanding to our pets that we hold even higher value than our meals. |
