I'm not aware of any bladder stone home remedies. My yorkie had bladder stone surgery.
My vet told me this week of a nutraceutical called cranitidine (that is new and apparently only available through a vet) that will decrease urine pH in the bladder to make bacterial growth conditions less favorable.
In hindsight I wish I would have consulted an veterinary internist for the surgery itself for our yorkie
I would ask these questions if you elect to have the stones removed surgically:
1. How many bladder stone surgeries have you done on dogs this size?
2. How often do you do these surgeries?
3. I wouldn't be pushy about this one but I would be curious if he/she has a pet owner who could give you a testimonial how things went with their pet for bladder stone surgery? |
