Every night my 2 yorkies curl up on my husband's lap and sleep. On Monday, my smallest yorkie Sophie stood up and then fell off his lap. I don't know if she lost her footing or what, but she just fell off into the floor. I jumped up and ran to her and she was laying there with her tongue stuck out and not moving. I panicked and picked her up and placed her on my husband's lap and she still wasn't moving and her tongue was still sticking out. After about 2 minutes, she started moving a little more and she started gagging and then she threw up. We raced her to our pet emergency clinic and on the way she was doing a weird thing with her breathing, but by the time we got her to the emergency clinic, she had pepped up more, but was still shaking. They checked her vitals and her pupils and said she seemed to be fine and they did an x ray which didn't show any broken bones. Although they said you could not x ray and tell anything about the head. The ER vet said she probably had a mild concussion because she threw up. Yesterday, she seemed completely fine, but I decided to take her into her regular vet just to give me peace of mind. He checked her pupils and her vitals again and said she was just fine. However, he noticed that when shy licks that she only licks to the left. (out of the left side of her mouth) I hadn't noticed this before and he hadn't either. (he has seen her either weekly or bi-weekly for the past year due to her having Demodex, so he knows her very well) He got some meat tasing stuff in a syringe and placed it on her mouth and she wouldn't lick to the right. She does have a really crooked tooth on the right and we don't know if she has trained herself not to lick that way or what, but we both found it to be concerning. My vet is now wondering if she may have had someting go on that made her fall off in the first place. For now, he just wants us to watch her for anything strange. Hopefully, she has always done this and we just hadn't noticed it before. She is such a tiny little thing (2 1/2 pounds) and she is 16 months old. She thinks she is a big dog, but she seems so fragile to her mommy

Anybody have any experience with their dog only licking to one side and not the other?
