I wouldn't use a mat breaker on a yorkie since their skin is just so sensitive. I use the small CC slicker brush, hold the mat between my fingers and start tapping at the mat, starting at the ends of the hair and working my way to the root. Use a good conditioner and detangling spray as well. |
She's 6 months, and I'm not completely sure if she still has a puppy coat, but it's looking like cotton right now. It's very thick and it's matting too easily. Plus I just got her spayed and she's under vet's orders of no bath for 2 weeks! Joy! Ha ha. I got her some detangling spray ... I guess I'll have to think about switching shampoos later. -sigh-
