What is the best time to begin thinking about a friend for your pup? Lola is 6 months, getting spayed next month and I would love to give her a friend to have companionship while i am at work during the day. I think she would love it as she gets along with any dog she comes in contact with. She is such a loving, happy, enjoyable pup and i think it would be so wonderful for her. I am on petfinder to get some ideas, but wondering..

how old should your first pup be?
do same gender work best? or male/female?
