If I may, from your posts I'm getting that you know what you need to do, but would prefer to just get to the end result.
Most of us are that way.
You've pointed out that you have the book, training in 7 days, but you didn't actually follow the process - (you have indicated that you haven't kenneled, and with accidents it's clear you also haven't leashed her to you when she's not kenneled... I have read this book.)
Now another person is telling you a way to associate the pad as a potty place - and it's very good advice, but you're again expressing concern.
Start with the first steps and then move through the process - as outlined in the book (which also inlcudes the person above me's advice). Give it a chance to work!
I know this is tough stuff but once trained you and your dog will have a much better life!
