They last for hours, so they can chew on it for hours one day and continue the next. When Uni had a lot of them, she got into the routine to chew them after her meal (helping to clean her teeth), lasting for days/weeks, however there is one risk that the wet chewed end can harbor bacteria. =/ We personally have not had any bad outcomes from bacteria.
