I really need to research/talk to my vet. I know that there is no cure for MVD. I am assuming the goal is to keep her on a low protein diet to keep the liver numbers down? I guess I expected her #s to be normal once we changed the food. I didn't even realize the Royal Canin Heptatic might be a problem. The l/d kibble only comes in 20 lb bags and the kibble is bigger which is a problem for my little one. I'm going to try the apples today as her training treat. I am also going to research the Purina food. The good thing is that she has no symptoms of liver disease and at her 6 mo checkup, the vet says she is in excellent condition...skeletal, weight, skin, hair, etc. YAY!!
