First, masking down with isoflurane, he would likely have to use a higher level to get her deep enough than if he were to give an injectable before. And then it sounds like he wants to have the gas lighter if he is going to do it that way. I would not have my dog light for an abdominal surgery. If he wasn't going to have her light, then there is no need to numb her abdomen. I would get a second opinion to make sure his plan is adequate for your girl. When in doubt, it can be performed at a specialty hospital with an anesthesiologist on staff. |  |
