I would not allow my dog to be spay in this manner. No way~no how not with an abdominal surgery. I could see if it were something that was not so invasive but not a spay. That is too deep into the abdomen. If this were suggested to me I would think twice and then look into a specialty hospital that could handle to intubate a small dog properly. Do you realize the amount of injectable that would be needed to try to control her pain? I really suggest that you get a second opinion and not go this route.
