We had Pheebie a few weeks ago. She is 4.3 lbs (5 1/2 months) and also did great. I had the same concerns about size and anesthesia but she did great! Our vet prefers to keep them overnight but I wasn't having it and they let me bring her home that night. She did great - what was amazing is she never even bothered her stiches....kept watching her to see if she needed her hood thing (we got the intertube type one) but she never touched them. Until the 9th day post op, guess the stitches were itchy so she dragged her belly on the rug in the kitchen, the stiches caught on the rub and when she dragged her belly, the stitches came out. Oh well....we were going to have them removed on day 10. Would have preferred the vet take them out but what can you do? LOL! She has a little scar tissue on her belly from the incidnet but it's getting smaller and vet says its fine.
So....hope that helps! It's still scary putting your little one out but sounds like your vet is a really good one! :-) |
