You need to take the time that you feel necessary...When I lost my Cammie, I'll admit that I wanted another puppy asap, when I only actually just wanted Cammie back. And I knew that when I accepted that she was gone, not coming back, and that I gave her the best life that I could possibly give is when we decided to look.
There's no shame in you to start browsing, but remember a new puppy won't replace Charlie. However, when you do get a new dog, a flood of memories will start coming back and you need to mentally be prepared for that.
P.s. We lost Cammie in January 18th 2008 (a week before my birthday). We brought Maizey home in May. A new pup will heal your heart, but may break it as well with memories of Charlie, are you ready for that? |
