The dog should have been removed and wife should've left but there were ways she could have done so without destroying his career. There are family advocacy groups on every base. Guess what his unit thinks now, that he is a wife bearer. Another shinig example of a military spouse f-ING the member.
Yikes.

As a now grown US Marine military brat, USAF military spouse to my husband of 18 years and mother of an active duty US Army daughter who was abused by her US Army husband I must say this.

I applaud her actions for stepping in to help her friend and if this man's career is ruined as a result then so be it. As far as I am concerned my daughter's x didn't have his career ruined fast enough for my liking. Ask my father who was in Vietnam and my husband if this is the type of person they would want in a fox hole next to them.

We lost my beautiful grandson at the age of 2 1/2 after one of his lovely father's incidents. My grandson was ill with a life threatening birth defect already so I can't say that he killed him but he had to be taken by ambulance after the incident and put into ICU, he never came out.

OP please don't even for one second 2nd guess your choices here, they were absolutely right and you are a hero in my eyes.
