I would like to add here. If we take statisics on the birthing process and deaths. Why would we as a society continue to breed??? Many, Many women still die during child birth, yet most of us want childern...

There are risks in everything we do. I understand you love for you animals, we care as deeply for ours. Some breeders never experience a death with their breedings and some do ~it can be from lack of experience in whelping, a vet not available when you need them, uneducated vet and/or the luck of the draw.

There are many ways of looking at this. I would also like to add that I think I was the one that posted about the joy we bring to others. As proud as I am of my children & 12 grandchildren and am as equally proud of my breedings. Keeping in touch from those that have purchased through me and hearing their stories of the joy that puppy or dog brings into their lives. Not being a monetary person this IS what I feel as the most rewarding experience in breeding. I guess it is what you value in your life....

It is a good thing that not all pet owners want to breed... It does take a special person to breed and breed responsibly, that is committed. When breeding properly there isn't a big profit margin. But as long as my dogs are well cared for and my vet is paid. I welcome the blessings the Lord gives me in each litter and what I can bring to others.
