I unfortunately have first hand experience with parvo. We fostered a puppy that had come from a shelter in South Carolina who broke with parvo the day he arrived at our house. With early and aggressive treatment, he survived, and our own dogs were not infected, but it was a heart wrenching and expensive process nonetheless.
