Princess was very healthy & well proportioned at 7lbs. and even when she filled out post spay at 8lbs. Now she's up to 9 & it's too much for her build. You can tell by how easy it is to feel ribs, see tucks & curves, etc. I will add though, that even at 9lbs. she's not a teeny dog but she's still very small (to me anyways).
