As to the runt that is now 10lbs, "runt" is only comparable to the rest of the litter. Perhaps they all exceeded standard.
There seem to be a whole lot of "yorkies" that are exceeding standard though (and just alot of poorly bred yorkies in general...) I'm not sure why this is, but it would sure make me question the ethics of the breeders. AKC papers used to mean something....I don't know that they mean so much anymore. I see so many adds for pups that don't come with papers, but if you really want papers, they can up with up them??? Either the litter is a registered AKC litter or it isn't. How do you really know who the parents of your puppy are? Based on the quality of yorkie pups I see I personally believe many breeders are doing some serious paper shuffling. |
Great breeders also end up having a tiny yorkie or a larger yorkie its not necessarily how they are bred. They where originally bigger then the standard now calls for so there is probably still genes in them or at least some of them that are for a bigger yorkie.
