Congrats on your litter of 6!! When my girls have puppies, their "home" for the first few weeks is with their pups in an xpen with a large under the bed storage box for their bed. It is lined with a bathroom rug that fits snuggly on the bottom with a heating pad on low on one side (under the rug) to keep the pups warm with room on the opposite side so mom can move to cool off when she wants to. Since we have other dogs in the house, the "nursery" is kept in the spare bedroom away from the commotion of the other fur kids and I usually will move into the spare room with the new family for a few weeks. This way mama is comfortable having me near and I am close enough to keep a watchful eye on the new pups...........and mama too.
