I do think that people should be able to sue for damages when negligence plays a role. IMaybe then animal shelters and places that care for animals will be more responsible if they know that they could be sued. Maybe the dog was worth absolutely nothing to someone else, but that doesn't mean the dog isn't worth a lot to the owner. TBH, if my dog got loose and ended up at a shelter... I would not let them keep the dog to be microchipped. I'd take my dog right away and make an appointment. I would NEVER leave my dog over the weekend like that.

I'd like to see what happens with this case.
