I didn't see Balsam listed as an ingredient, I did read a mention of mixing PEK with their Balsams, but I don't do that anyway. I've used this product now for over 4 years and have yet to see any damage or dullness with Reno's coat. If anything PEK has saved his coat from damage, with all of his playing and running around outside. Reno's hair doesn't develop any waxy coating, but every few months I like to use a clarifying shampoo just to remove any possible build-up. Of course followed up with an deep conditioning PEK mask.
