It's a sad situation, but I'm very happy to hear that he is finally feeling better. As was suggested earlier, a tiny bit of honey might help his throat, which must be sore from the way you describe it. Just to think that Kacee used to sneak and go to sleep in our closets when she was a puppy and get shut in them for awhile made me very careful that we didn't do that again. I think your lil guy will get over it, but he will probably never want to be near a closet again.
