One of my biggest pet peeves is when people say "I just don't understand why someone would get a dog if they work long hours". I read something similar on this board today in response to a post about someone who works full time. I hate to break it to the world at large, but the majority of people in this country work 40 hours a week outside of the home!
When I got my dogs, I was lucky enough to work from home. Unfortunately, that is no longer an option. Shall I go dump them off at the pound now because I'm a single parent with a full time job? REALLY?
Ooh, that gets me steamed! I'm sure other people might use full time employment as an excuse to dump their dogs saying they don't have time for them, but that's just an excuse. My dogs are like my children! They are loved and doted on AND WANT FOR NOTHING! |
