Brutus did puppy classes through our vet clinic. They were "okay" - I believe the main issue was that all the other pups were large and Brutus didn't really take to them. I did learn alot of tips on training and Brutus learned how to walk on a leash, sit, lay down and the leave it command. I am considering another class, but will only do if there are other dogs his size attending.
At first I had a collar on Brutus until I read how dangerous they can be, so he only wears a harness for his walks. I am going to get him a breakaway collar, but haven't gotten around to it.
Brutus came crate trained in a plastic crate, but that lasted 2 days. He sleeps with me and is never crated. Luckily for me he did excellent at potty training. I kept him in our 4 Season room at first, then moved him into the middle floor of the house - not an accident yet (knock on wood).
Congrats on your new baby. This forum is the best for all different tips on anything and everything. I have learned so much.
