Please do not ship, DH worked for several different airlines over the years and even though MOST try to do well by the dogs, ITS AWFUL, traumatic isn't even close enough a word to cover the experience.
The horror stories are awful, even inside the plane it's hard to fly. But then I personally hate to fly so may be I'm prejudiced. LOL
And I can mostly understand what goes on. Good luck
