As if the name NONPROFIT wasn't enough!
I think some think there is a massive reserve of funds being accumulated by rescues to get all these 'expensive' medical costs covered.
Those expensive life saving silly medical treatments that no one (the people who dumped the dogs in the first place) could afford.
Or people also assume that everyone who works rescue is a philanthropist, and can just write a personal check to their rescue to cover costs.
Anyways I do have to say it is confusing if you don't understand it and you see Craig's lists purepred Yorkie puppies $100 and the an older rescue listed for $900
