I saw this a few weeks back and was really interested.
A few others I had seen in the past had a monthly service fee... is this one different?
I was considering this a while back because we have 90 acres of farmland behind us and Jackson minds really well but I still always keep him on a 50' lead anyways, but this may give peace of mind, if I could log on to my cell phone and see exactly where he was (don't get the wrong idea -- it wouldn't be to just let my dog off leash and relying on it to keep him safe or anything).
But yeah as far as I can tell you can set a boundary and the minute the dog goes out of it, it alerts you?
Interesting technology, but not sure if it's worth the $$$ at the moment.
I hope they one day have it available to do like microchips. I believe the issue with this is that it's an active device vs. a passive chip. An active device like GPS transmitter needs a battery, whereas a dog chip doesn't. |
