Even with a 12 week old puppy, you have to let them out of the crate every hour. My goodness was the dog kept in a crate 8 hours? That is cruel, a dog hates going in his crate and will only do it if he has no choice, and she’s actually doing things that will keep him from ever being trained. A dog can hold urine a little longer during the night, but small breeds develop slower than large a breed, that is why good breeders keep them longer. I hope she listens to you. I set several pee pads in Joey's xpen, so he couldn't make a mistake. When he was out of the pen, my eyes were glued on him, and pads were always a few feet away. A puppy will look for a place to go, but it's not going to go on a hike. I hate it that breeders will sell someone like this a dog, it's so sad.
