I do not recommend limiting food for an eight week old puppy; this dog should still be with its mother. The first thing a pet owner should do is to protect and nourish the puppy, after that comes house training. I personally wouldn't even try it until the dog is older, if you try too young, your only training yourself. The crate has to be no bigger than what the dog can stand up and turn around in, and if it's too big they will poop and pee in it. Also an 8 week old puppy probably can't hold it more than an hour anyway. Her best bet would be to get an x pen like a breeder and place pee pads and a bed or crate inside the xpen. Cover the floor with lots of pee pads and gradually reduce the pads you use.
There is a special method to crate training, and you need to let the dogs our on a schedule, you can't just leave them in the crate untill your ready to let them out. |
