Grooming Spray? (anti-static, low fragrance) I have read through tons of different posts about grooming sprays and I can't say that I still have anything figured out. I was reading on either this site or the Maltese one about Crown Royale Grooming Spray formula #1 for Maltese (so that one must have been on the Maltese site), or Coat Handler diluted 15:1 for conditioning after shampooing or 30:1 for brushing?
If I used Coat Handler to condition with would that be instead of the Creme Rinse? Maybe that's a dumb question but I'm definitely a newbie in this particular realm. Also does anyone know where I could purchase in Canada? Probably will have to be online as sadly nobody around where I live seems to carry anything decent.
Lu is a yorkie/maltese and she has what I suspect is a bit of a dream coat. I have had very little tangles in her hair and I used to brush her every day but have found that I can go for a couple of days and still not have tangles. I haven't had it super long yet and I trimmed it short this past summer so it's only about 2.5" long right now. Since she is only 8" or so tall that kind of medium length on her, but I have had it longer (like maybe 4” or so) and it still didn’t' tangle much if at all. I'd kind of like to keep it that way though and so I realize that as her hair gets longer it will be much more likely to tangle. Any thoughts or suggestions on a grooming spray would be greatly appreciated.
As a bit of extra info, I used to use Bio-Groom Fluffy Puppy shampoo and the Silk Creme Rinse and loved how Lu's hair was but she seemed itchy for a couple of days afterwards. I tried rinsing extra well and diluting things and that didn't seem to help. Also one of my daughters quite disliked the fragrance that lingered on Lu after her bath. (Not a reason to switch but it was a contributing factor) I switched to earthbath Hypo-Allergenic shampoo and their Creme Rinse and Conditioner and it's quite nice as well but Lu is maybe not quite as soft and silky. The itchiness seems less but not gone. |
