Has anyone experienced weight loss in female Yorkie after first heat? Lexi has gradually lost a significant amount of weight since her first heat a month ago and her hair is also thinning out alot. She will be 10 months next week.

I havent taken her to the vet yet, as she does not appear sick. However, I did speak to the vet and she said this can be normal sometimes and to watch for a false pregnancy and bring her in immediately if there are any signs. She has NOT been bred and had no chances of mating.

She has always been a picky eater but continues to eat 2-3 times a day.

I bought a multivitamin for small dogs today to help supplement her, as I know her body is making some drastic changes right now.

I had Pomeranians before and I know they lose their hair during heat cycles and pregnancy, but this is my first female Yorkie. I would appreciate some feedback from anyone that has experienced this with their female Yorkie.
