A handy thing to have at home is a small pair of round tip scissors. They are great for doing a little trimming here and there between grooming sessions. They would work great for getting rid of that little mat between her toes and snipping some of the fur between her legs. If you have someone to help you hold her still that might help you feel more secure doing it for the first time. I use them for trimming Gracie's nose between groomings when the fur gets too long and starts getting in her eyes.
There were some grooming videos posted here that are very helpful. Some of the things she does with electric clippers can be done with the scissors.
