Giving subcutaneous fluids is not really uncomfortable for them. Sometimes it will help them for a period of time. Usually the vet will check their blood levels out to see if the fluids are helping.
I would say that maybe you can try it and see if it helps...and see how she tolerates it.
I am sorry you are going through this....watching our beloved pups age and get sick is very depressing. She is a lucky girl to have had you for all of these years.
