The same thing pretty much happened to me as well. However, I could tell by his roots, that if his hair got cut short he would be a total different color as only the tips of his hair was dark. I didn't want them to cut his hair, so I was SHOCKED as I was not prepared for the drastic change. Took me a few days to get adjusted to it, but he is still cute, just not "fuzzy" cute.
