Well my first taste of fancy salt was when I was about 19. Sel de mer. The french fine fine sea salt. I think it was the Baleen brand with the whale on the can. I thought it was so expensive, well compared to regular sodium chloride, it is!

After I got into watching Food Network, you know back when it wasn't "cool" yet, I got interested in pink himayalan. I scored some at Ross a few years ago, and I still have an itty bitty left. So I recently just bought some Alaea Hawaiian red salt. It has smaller crystals and is not as strong as the himayalan.

Really interested in trying some black salt. Also eating a meal served on a salt slab. But that is way expensive.
