The vet told me this is something to watch closely and that he may need surgery as he ages (Mojo will only be one at the end of this month). As my vet advises, I would not plan to do surgery unless Mojo was obviously in pain and suffering. I do plan on bringing him to a specialist to have him evaluated and get a second opinion, though.
I'm ordering a ramp for my bed and steps for the couches to hopefully minimize jumping. I know some people give supplements and some don't feel they really help. Will anyone please share his or her experiences with LP? I guess I'm looking for an idea of what to expect. Is surgery at some point down the road an inevitability?

My baby was diagnosed with this in both her knees too. She was miserable, couldn't get comfortable always moving from one spot to another, running not knowing where to go with her hiney tucked in. I read about "FLEXICOSE" for Pets, its a Glucosamine Chondroitin. I ordered a bottle of this and I think it might have been after a week maybe a week and a half tht she was taking it she was a different dog, running and playing again. I couldn't believe it. I'm on my 3rd bottle and swear by it. I think it's the best thing, made a whole world of difference in my Zsa Zsa. Check it out at
www.flexicose.com it's a family run business very personable so if you have any questions just call them. It will definitely help. Good Luck!
