Hello everyone! Just thought I'd update on how our plane trip went. Sophia is an AMAZING traveller! She was absolutely perfect the entire trip. I was so proud of her.
Peyton on the other hand...
Bless his heart...he just doesn't like to travel. Not even car rides. But, I'm hoping eventually he'll get better. He did whine quite a bit in the carrier under the seat, but he also had times of quiet, so that is good.
Our first hiccup came when we got to the gate before we got on the first plane. I looked in my carry on expecting to see the two leashes and they were not there! My daughter had taken them out and put them on the car seat for me trying to be helpful. So, I headed over to the Vera Bradley shop to see if they had leashes. They didn't, but they had lanyards and I improvised and bought two of them (for each Yorkie) and hooked them together. Crises averted!
Then, I took them to stretch their legs and Peyton poos in the middle of the airport...and it was a little runny. (Nerves I guess!) So, I quickly cleaned it up with the piddle pad I had in my hand.
At the Atlanta airport they tell us as we are walking with the Yorkies on the leash that we are not allowed to have them out of their carrier. It is a $1,000 fine. This was from an airport policeman. I kindly thanked him for telling us and quickly put them in the carrier. Luckily we didn't get the fine, but I felt bad that they had to stay in the carrier instead of getting to stretch their legs.
The last hiccup came at the Florida airport. We finally get outside to find some grass for a much needed potty break to find that the only grass available has been treated with a pesticide and could not be walked on. Thankfully the Yorkies held it until we got in the rental car and drove to a gas station...with a grass area nearby!
Having the Yorkies here with us has been WONDERFUL!! Even if there were a few little hiccups along the way! I posted a some pics in the picture forum, but here is my favorite one!
