I have 3 kids at home. 5, 8, and 14 year old. They all know the rules reguarding Ahi.(Who only weighs 2 1/2lbs.) They are gentle and sometimes my 5 yr. old can get overly loving. But Ahi tolerates it and her disposition is awesome. Who is the one that accidentally pushing her??(I don't want to say kick because we aren't allowed to walk normal in this house lol)...It's my hubby and definitely not on purpose.
I also run a daycare out of my home. I have 5 children that I watch. Ages range from 4 mos. to 3 yrs. old. They are all great with her and vise versa but they are always supervised when Ahi is out in the childrens area. Otherwise she has full run of the rest of the house while the kids are gated off.

So far I have never been bashed for having a little dog in my kid abundant home. I do however take many precautions in protecting my little Ahi as I would a newborn.
I do however agree that in some situations a little bitty dog is not good for a home with one or lots of little kids. It's also how well the parent can monitor the children and dog. I for one have grown eyes in the back of my head.
