I think maybe it's not yorkies with children period. The concern I see is more for smaller yorkies with children. The smaller the dog is, the more fragile it is and therefore it is usually best to avoid placing them in situations where they won't be treated as gently as they should be. Children aren't bad, but they are often accidentally careless. And it doesn't take much to break a bone or seriously hurt a three or four pound dog.
Typically, a good breeder will not place a very small yorkie in a home with children. But a larger one (more like 6 -7 pounds and up) could be okay. Does that help any? |
