my dad took in an old, neglected, unneutered male yorkie years ago. he only had 1 testicle that decended. the dr said she always recommends having them neutered when they have this condition, as the other testicle is there but hasn't dropped down and could cause a great deal of pain, or even twist around vital parts if it wasn't removed, which could be life threatening. he had the operation, which was more extensive than your typical neuter, and did just fine even though he was estimated to be around 12 years old at the time. he lived another almost 4 years, and were probably the best years of his life as the previous owners kept him leashed to a kitchen chair because he lifted his leg in their house. getting him neutered would have probably resolved that problem, but they obviously didn't care enough to do that for him and turned him over to my dad.
wishing you best of luck at your appointment on saturday and that you get some answers for your baby!!! please keep us updated.
