The spot that is the worst is right in the bedroom in front of the door and in the hall way on the other side of the bedroom door, so that is the area we treated. When I left for work today I put a large fan on the floor in the bedroom and when I came home it still stunk to high heaven and the carpet was damp. I turned off the fan and now the carpet in that area doesn't smell much at all. It's just the rest of the house that does... the fan blew all the nasty smelling air through the rest of the apartment so I think I just need to open some the sliding glass door and the bedroom window to let some fresh air circulate. Hopefully this does the trick. I think I'll probably sprinkle some deodorizing powder on the carpet too then vacuum it up. Maybe that will help some too.
