Smoking is such an issue from the get-go - that it's hard to bring up in any pet forum without a great deal of controversy.

I have several smokers in my family (most have quit), and we have always smoked around our pets. We do not blow smoke in their faces - and more often than not - they are across the room, outside, or in another part of the house. But, anyway, to my knowledge we have never had any problems because of it. All of our dogs have lived long and healthy lives...and the few health problems they have had were never the result of having been around smoke.

I, personally, wouldn't make an issue of one person smoking occasionally around my dog. But that's me. I know for a fact that a lot of people think this is the absolute worst thing in the world!!!!
