Thanks for the replies. She is on Orijen puppy food which was the best food I could find. My last dog was on Orijen and my cats are and do great! No it's not fishy, kinda just a horrible doggy wet pondy smell, and after she's been outside she smells worse! It's not an anal gland smell. She gets slightly runny eyes that I clean everyday, and thought that might be the cause, but it's not, it's her coat/skin that seems to smell! My vet has always said not to bath them too often as it inteferes with their natural oils. I use Whal shampoo and conditioner that I love the smell of, but her smell quickly returns! No I don't use a flea dip, I use Frontline spot on monthly, and vetpac wormer every 3 months on the advice of my vet. At the moment she is loosing her teeth, she's just lost all her front ones within a few days, and now bigger ones are coming through. She has yet to lose her canines and back teeth, she's 19 weeks. Yes, we live in a very hard water area, so maybe I will boil her drinking water. I have a detangling spray, which smells lovely, but her smell soon returns. |
