I called the vet when they opened at 730 and they said that since he was sniffing/in search of something while pacing it shouldn't be anything to worry about. He might have been tracking a fly and lost track.
He eventually curled up next to me and relaxed. Took him out and he was totally normal. Had to leave for the afternoon, but will be back soon. Hopefully everything is a- ok
