I don't always pick mine up if there is room to keep a tight leash and go way around and the other owner is doing the same. I will not hesitate to pick them up though if the big dog can come close enough to possible harm them. I have been known to pick my yorkie up with the harness when a big dog appears out of no where.

I was traumatized when I was 12 years od and was walking my toy poodle and a boxer attacked him. It was horrifying I go bit and my dog did not survive.

I am so glad that Aggie will be okay. We can never be too careful with these babies. You are a wonderful mommy....it's the lady with the dalmation that needs to work with her dog.
