It smells like musky ammonia. From what I've read it seems like this is normalish? Like the enzymes are breaking down the bacteria or something and I read that after it dries, the carpet won't smell any more. I don't know what to do now... I bought a second bottle but don't know if I should try to air out the place and put a fan to dry the area quicker or to go over it again with the second bottle then air it out? Or maybe lift up the carpet and clean the padding with it? Any ideas? |
Did you buy the regular enzymatic cleaner or the Nature's Miracle that's meant to go in a carpet shampooer? I've never had the rug smell like that after cleaning it, though. I do remember reading that in really bad cases, it is sometimes necessary to pull up the carpet and completely saturate the padding with it. If you go to their
