I am so sorry you had such a horrifying experience. Many of us have that same gut feeling that you are talking about. Glad your baby is okay. When she and you feel better I hope she can have a good Big Dog experience so she doesn't freak out every time she sees one. (meaning with a Gentle Giant that is a family friend)
