Well today was interested but preoccupied.
I actually think it was dominance humping.
Princess was not feeling well apparently we have ...the F-Word...fleas.
In our yard and it only takes a few hours for her to not feel good then me to notice usually I failed this time though.
Princess is allergic to fleas, so is Dad so yeah fleas are "THE F-WORD" here.
It usually only takes one bite & she's got a bump, two bites & a rash, more she itching until bathed & treated pulling out her hair and hot spots happen virtually overnight.
I noticed a couple giant fleas when the dogs came in from the yard, a couple days ago, and have been checking ever since until last night after baths & the house was checked the dogs went into the yard guaranteed flea free to potty before bed and came in with big nasty fleas on Elvis and Princess-Scoobers just never really seems to get a flea on him.
Still not sure why maybe the neighbor with an "outside only dog" put a flea collar on their dog again causing all the fleas to rush over to my dogs, or dead flea covered rat again-in my garden last time how gross is that-?-either or I'm not sure I really want to know the cause.
Anyways we've fully treated the dogs all bedding trashed or laundered, kennels wiped sterile flea repellent treated, dogs bathed, combed and repel applied, steam cleaned , sprayed, checked & double checked the yard is covered with diatomaceous earth like thin layer of snow-no nato.s right now but hey it works.
I know I'm a lil neurotic it's like WWIII here with any parasite issue or concern of parasites but they are totally my phobia, besides poor Princess though it only takes one and she's having a reaction, I've found and killed at least 20 in the last 2 days.
Poor Princess is mangy looking again red, irritated, pulled out her hair on her haunches and smells of ACV she seems o be pouting but comforted and resting, but she looks so cute wearing her kissecone.
Elvis is being kept at bay he's really taking full advantage of her 'down and out' state.
Anyways I really think Elvis instantly noted Princess was weakened (stressed, anxious, etc) by the flea issue immediately and he has gotten brave taking full advantage of the situation trying to move up in the pack order.
I guess we'll see how it goes now that we are 100% flea free once again and see if Princess' stress relief changes Elvis' behavior toward her. |
