Pup with neuter and extraction would need pain med and AB.
Pup with a dental and no extractions or gum work (nothing that would cause pain after procedure is over) would possibly need ABs, but probably not pain meds.

I would check with them and question what they were thinking. Microchips should have been inserted when they were under anesthesia.
