We live on a street with lots of people walking dogs & babies, joggers, bikers, etc. I appreciate him patrolling the grounds, but I need to figure out how to get him to stop once I tell him it's OK.
What we've been doing is let him bark a few times to alert us, then give the quiet command. Then spray if he ignores us. Or praise if he does get quiet.

I've read that you are supposed to let them bark a little before telling them quiet, and that will eventually teach them that warning barks are okay.

Last night there was a kitten scratching at our back door to get in, and the door is glass so the kitten was literally in Jax's face. He couldn't stand it! He was soaked by all the spraying.

(I'm tridntrue's daughter, btw)
